1.0 FTE Supported Child Development Consultant

The role of a SCD Consultant is to address parent and child care provider needs and issues related to the inclusion of children with extra support needs. The Consultant’s job is to provide strategies and resources to child care providers about children that require extra help in their settings. Responsibilities include collaborating with other service providers, as well as providing observation, assessment, service coordination, individualized service planning and monitoring and training.

If you have…

  • Valid Early Childhood Education License to practice issued by the BC Child Care Facilities Licensing Board.
  • Valid Special Needs License to practice issued by the BC Child Care Facilities Licensing Board.
  • 3 years recent related experience working in inclusive child care.
  • Valid BC Driver’s License and access to a personal vehicle for work purposes.

We are looking for a 1.0 FTE Therapy Assistant to begin in January of 2019. This staff member will work under the direction of the Therapy Program Supervisor and as part of a multidisciplinary team serving preschool-aged children with special needs. A Diploma in Therapy or Rehabilitation Assistant is required. Pediatric experience is an asset. Salary and benefits are competitive as per the HSA Community Subsector Collective Agreement.

0.6 FTE Occupational Therapist

We are looking for a 0.6 FTE Occupational Therapist to begin in the fall of 2018. This staff member will work under the direction of the Therapy Program Supervisor and as part of a multidisciplinary team serving preschool and school-aged children with an Autism Spectrum Disorder or other special needs. A Degree in Occupational Therapy and eligibility for registration with COTBC and RASP is required. Pediatric experience is an asset. Salary and benefits are competitive as per the Paramedical Professional Collective Agreement.

AUTISM SERVICES PROGRAM:  Casual Behaviour Interventionist

Minimum qualifications for this position are a high school diploma plus experience working with children. (Experience with children with ASD and related disorders would be preferred.)

This position requires travel within Vernon and district. All candidates must have a valid class 5 driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
